Last month was a bumper month at Disruptor’s HQ, we were lucky to host so many events about innovation, design and so many inspiring extraordinary people focused on creating extraordinary futures for us all.
One of our favourites was our “Wine and Cheese Night”, Tracy McLeod Howe facilitated a discussion with a panel of intelligent, diverse and brave women who generously shared their lived experiences of striving for leadership in their fields of work. We heard from Malini Raj from Commonwealth Bank, Trish Mitra-Kahn from the Department of Justice, Christine Truong from Pembroke Resources pty ltd, and Sandra D’Souza, co-founder and CEO of Elect.
“It was a delight to be in a room with like-minded people with a strong community conscience who are bringing their unique skills and experience to new platforms within the community services space. These events create a space for people to meet and share ideas, I love the entrepreneurial spirit this supports.” – Rebecca Kullay, Procare Australia
The insightful conversation flowed and mainly on the notion that while major efforts have been made to make workplace environments more inclusive, there is still much more to do in order to truly reap the benefits of diversity.
“The lived experience of women from across the globe and their challenges and triumphs were inspirational to all of us in the room. It left us wanting more, their stories generated and imparted so much connection and strength for all of us. The consensus in the room was ‘we need more of these!’” – Tracy McLeod Howe
We are currently planning our next Women & Diversity panel event, please email us and let us know what topics you’d like to hear about and if you’d like to attend email@example.com
